Refunds

We lead busy lives, and sometimes things happen. If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson for any reason, please send me an email. Cancellations made at least 7 days before the start of the course will receive a full refund. If you need to cancel within 72 hours of the course start, a 50% refund will be offered.

Unfortunately, due to the small class sizes and difficulty filling spaces at the last minute, refunds will not be offered for cancellations made less than 72 hours before the start of a course.

Please send cancellation requests to wanderingwaveskayak@gmail.com

Cancellation

While every attempt will be made to avoid doing so, Wandering Waves may cancel classes at any time for any reason, including but not limited to sickness, weather conditions, emergency, equipment malfunction, closure of course venue, or other unforeseen circumstances. In the event of Wandering Waves canceling a class you will receive a full refund of the price of the course. It is strongly recommended that participants consider purchasing travel insurance if traveling for a course.

Health Policy

Your instructor is a Wilderness First Responder, carrying an extensive first aid kit and trained to respond to medical emergencies in the outdoor environment. Though no one will be excluded from a class based on a controlled medical condition, it is helpful to know about participant’s major medical history or current health conditions in order to better assist in emergency situations. This information will not be shared with other course participants or anyone besides the instructor.

Participant Agreement

Participants agree to participate in an inclusive, positive learning environment. We will act in ways that support our own and each others’ development as paddlers and respect each other as fellow human beings. Wandering Waves has a zero tolerance policy for hate speech, and anyone using racist, homophobic, sexist, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise hateful language will be asked to leave with no refund given.

Any participant who arrives visibly under the influence of alcohol or other drugs will be asked to leave and no refund will be given.

Weather Policy

Classes run rain or shine. The Pacific Northwest can be a wet place, especially at the beginning and end of the season, and paddling on rainy days gives us the opportunity to see a different side of the coast. You might get to see more waterfalls. Maybe even a rainbow. And your post-class hot coffee will taste even better.

In the case of unsafe weather conditions, including high wind, waves, lightning, poor air quality due to wildfire, etc., classes will be cancelled or rescheduled at instructor discretion, with an attempt to provide participants with as much notice as possible. Full refunds will be provided if Wandering Waves cancels due to weather.
